Wagstaff Billet Casting Systems are engineered and custom manufactured to the aluminum producer's needs.  A system can house from 2 to 140 strands and can be optimized to cast a variety of alloys.  Systems are designed to utilize the available footprint by configuring the table to the maximum number of strands.

The Wagstaff ShurStart^TM Starting Head Base is available in several styles depending on platen size and pit configuration.

Wagstaff billet molds use self-centering starting heads machined from solid steel. The self-centering design ensures correct alignment with the mold body each time the starting heads are raised into the starting position. This eliminates the task of manually aligning the starting heads, improving casting cycle time.   The starting heads can be removed from the starting head base and replaced without tools, which reduces time spent on maintenance and set-up procedures.

Each Wagstaff Billet Casting system is manufactured in Wagstaff's state-of-the-art machine shop.  All welding is done by certified welders, and components are fabricated  in compliance with the highest ISO 9001 quality standards.  In addition, the mold table is water and air leak tested prior to shipment.
